Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 4 July 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the Quink Lab website and to coaching services provided by Quink Lab.

By using this website, submitting an enquiry or application, booking a coaching session, paying for coaching, or participating in Quink Lab coaching, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Where a student is under 18, these Terms & Conditions apply to the parent or guardian who enquires, books, communicates with Quink Lab, or is responsible for payment.

1. About Quink Lab

Quink Lab is operated by Christopher Burrill, Mathematics Coach, ABN 61 837 870 379.

Quink Lab provides structured online senior mathematics coaching for high school students, with a focus on Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, exam performance, problem-solving, structured working and clear mathematical communication.

2. Coaching services

Quink Lab provides structured online mathematics coaching for senior students, including but not limited to:

  • one-on-one online coaching sessions
  • Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics support
  • targeted exam preparation
  • problem-solving and communication coaching
  • assessment and exam strategy
  • structured mathematical working
  • support with unfamiliar and complex questions
  • independent learning guidance
  • parent updates where appropriate
  • limited between-session support where included in the agreed coaching arrangement

Quink Lab’s coaching is designed for motivated students who are willing to engage actively in the process. It is not intended as basic homework help, a last-minute fix, or a replacement for the student’s school course.

Coaching is most effective when students are prepared to think, attempt, reflect and improve over time.

3. Applications and coaching fit

Submitting an enquiry or application does not guarantee acceptance into coaching.

Quink Lab may consider factors such as:

  • student year level
  • subject studied
  • current goals
  • coaching needs
  • availability
  • student motivation
  • suitability for the coaching approach
  • whether the requested support aligns with Quink Lab’s services

Quink Lab may decline an enquiry or application where the service is not considered a suitable fit, or where Quink Lab is unable to provide the type of support being requested.

4. Online delivery

Quink Lab coaching is delivered online unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Students are responsible for having access to:

  • a reliable internet connection
  • a suitable device
  • working audio and microphone
  • any required video conferencing platform
  • relevant textbooks, notes, calculator or school materials
  • a quiet environment suitable for focused coaching

Technical issues on the student’s side may reduce the effectiveness of a session. Quink Lab will make reasonable efforts to continue or adapt the session where practical. If a student is unable to participate properly because of internet, device, audio, video or platform issues outside Quink Lab’s control, the session may be treated as delivered unless Quink Lab agrees to reschedule or extend the session.

5. Session preparation

Students may be asked to submit questions, topics, upcoming assessment details or areas of concern before a session. Students may also be asked to provide relevant school materials, practice questions, assessment information, teacher feedback, past test papers or examples of working where this helps Quink Lab prepare targeted coaching.

To get the most value from coaching, students should:

  • attend on time
  • bring relevant materials
  • complete agreed preparation where required
  • actively participate
  • attempt problems independently where appropriate
  • reflect on feedback and next steps
  • communicate honestly about areas of difficulty

Quink Lab coaching is most effective when students take ownership of their learning.

6. Parent and guardian involvement

Where a student is under 18, a parent or guardian must be involved in the coaching arrangement and will generally be responsible for communication, bookings and payment.

Parents or guardians may be responsible for:

  • submitting enquiries or applications
  • confirming bookings
  • arranging payment
  • communicating relevant learning, access or support information
  • supporting student attendance and preparation
  • receiving updates where appropriate

Quink Lab may communicate with parents or guardians about session arrangements, student progress, coaching priorities, assessment preparation, fees, scheduling, concerns or other matters relevant to coaching.

7. Fees and payment

Fees will be communicated before coaching begins or before a coaching package, term cycle or session is confirmed.

Payment terms may vary depending on the coaching arrangement and will be confirmed directly with the parent, guardian or responsible payer.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • fees must be paid by the due date stated on the invoice or payment request
  • coaching sessions may be paused if payment is overdue
  • bookings may not be confirmed until payment arrangements are in place
  • future prices may change from time to time, but any price change will apply only to future sessions, packages or coaching arrangements unless otherwise agreed in writing

For casual or session-by-session coaching arrangements, payment may be required within 24 hours of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.

All fees are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. Any GST treatment, where applicable, will be stated on the invoice or payment request.

8. Cancellations and rescheduling

Quink Lab understands that students and families may occasionally need to reschedule.

Where possible, at least 24 hours’ notice should be provided for cancellations or rescheduling requests.

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • sessions cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice may be rescheduled subject to availability
  • sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full, particularly where the reserved time cannot reasonably be offered to another student
  • missed sessions or no-shows may be charged in full
  • repeated cancellations or rescheduling requests may result in coaching being paused or discontinued
  • rescheduled sessions are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed

Quink Lab may, at its discretion, waive or adjust cancellation charges in cases of genuine illness, emergency or exceptional circumstances.

Cancellation terms are intended to protect reserved coaching time, maintain consistency for students, and ensure fairness to other families.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

9. Late attendance

Students should join online sessions on time.

If a student is late, the session may still finish at the scheduled time. Extra time is not guaranteed.

If a student is significantly late or does not attend, the session may be treated as a missed session unless otherwise agreed.

If Quink Lab is delayed or needs to reschedule, reasonable efforts will be made to provide the full session time or arrange an alternative time.

10. Coaching support between sessions

Some coaching arrangements may include limited support between sessions, depending on the agreed coaching tier, package or arrangement.

Between-session support may include brief clarification, short responses, check-ins, voice feedback, written feedback or submitted-work review, where this is included in the agreed coaching arrangement.

Unless specifically included, between-session support does not include:

  • full lesson-style explanations unless specifically included
  • unlimited messaging
  • extended problem sets
  • urgent same-day support unless specifically included
  • completing schoolwork for the student
  • rewriting assignments or assessment responses

Response times may vary depending on availability, school term demand and the nature of the request.

Any support with school assessments must remain consistent with academic integrity requirements and must not involve Quink Lab completing assessable work for the student.

11. Educational outcomes and no guarantee of results

Quink Lab aims to help students improve mathematical thinking, communication, problem-solving and exam performance.

However, results depend on many factors outside Quink Lab’s control, including:

  • student effort
  • attendance
  • preparation
  • school assessment conditions
  • prior knowledge
  • exam performance
  • study habits
  • consistency
  • wellbeing
  • curriculum or school requirements

Quink Lab does not guarantee any particular mark, grade, ATAR, ranking, subject result, scholarship result, competition result, university entry outcome or assessment outcome.

Any references to past results, student improvement or high achievement are examples only and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of future outcomes.

12. Educational coaching, not health or psychological support

Quink Lab provides educational coaching and mathematics support. It does not provide medical, psychological, counselling, diagnostic or therapeutic services.

Where a student has learning needs, access arrangements, medical considerations, anxiety, disability or other support needs, parents or guardians are responsible for providing relevant information that may affect coaching participation.

Quink Lab may adapt coaching communication, pacing or strategy where practical, but families should seek appropriate professional advice for health, psychological, diagnostic or therapeutic matters.

13. Student conduct and academic integrity

Students are expected to participate respectfully, honestly and actively.

Quink Lab supports learning, understanding, independent mathematical development and ethical assessment preparation. It does not assist with cheating, plagiarism, academic misconduct, contract cheating, inappropriate AI use, or completing assessable work in a way that breaches school, QCAA, VCAA or other relevant curriculum authority requirements.

Quink Lab may help students understand concepts, practise relevant skills, improve mathematical communication, prepare for exams, analyse feedback and develop assessment strategies. However, students remain responsible for their own school submissions, assessment conduct and compliance with school rules.

Quink Lab may refuse, pause or stop coaching if a student or parent requests support that is inappropriate, dishonest or inconsistent with academic integrity.

Use of AI and submitted student work
Quink Lab may discuss appropriate and ethical use of technology or AI tools as part of study, revision or learning strategy.

Quink Lab does not complete assessable work for students using AI or any other tool. Students remain responsible for ensuring that any use of AI, technology, collaboration or external support complies with their school’s assessment rules and the requirements of the relevant curriculum authority.

Quink Lab will not knowingly upload identifiable student work, private assessment materials or sensitive student information to third-party AI tools without parent or guardian consent.

14. Use of resources and intellectual property

Coaching notes, worked solutions, session summaries, recordings, online workspace materials, resources, explanations, templates, methods, frameworks and other materials provided by Quink Lab are for the personal educational use of the enrolled student only.

Unless written permission is provided, these materials must not be:

  • copied for commercial use
  • shared publicly
  • uploaded online
  • sold or distributed
  • used by another tutoring or coaching provider
  • reproduced as part of another educational product or service
  • used to train, build or supply another tutoring, coaching, AI or educational service

Quink Lab retains ownership of its original teaching methods, explanations, resources, frameworks, website content and other intellectual property.

15. Recording sessions

Sessions must not be recorded by the student, parent, guardian or any other person unless prior written permission is given by Quink Lab.

Quink Lab sessions are conducted online and may be recorded for educational, review, quality assurance, administrative or safety purposes.

Where sessions are recorded, recordings are used only for coaching-related purposes, such as reviewing student thinking, improving feedback, maintaining continuity between sessions or supporting safe and professional practice.

Recordings must not be copied, shared, published, uploaded or distributed without written permission from Quink Lab.

16. Technology, platforms and third-party services

Quink Lab may use third-party tools to deliver coaching, manage communication, store notes, process forms, issue invoices, manage payments, or operate the website.

These may include video conferencing tools, online workspace tools, Microsoft OneNote or similar platforms, email, website forms, cloud storage, security tools, analytics tools and payment or invoicing systems.

Quink Lab will take reasonable care in selecting and using appropriate platforms. However, Quink Lab is not responsible for interruptions, outages, data loss or technical issues caused by third-party platforms, internet providers, devices or services outside its reasonable control.

Use of third-party platforms may also be subject to the terms and privacy policies of those providers.

17. Website content

The content on the Quink Lab website is provided for general information only.

Website content should not be treated as personalised educational advice for a particular student unless provided directly through a coaching relationship.

Quink Lab may update, remove or change website content at any time.

18. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quink Lab is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from the use of the website, participation in coaching, technical issues, missed sessions, academic outcomes or reliance on general website content.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

Where Quink Lab’s liability cannot be excluded, Quink Lab’s liability will be limited to the extent permitted by law, which may include resupplying the relevant service or paying the reasonable cost of having the service supplied again.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

19. Refunds

Refunds and remedies will be considered in accordance with Australian Consumer Law and the specific circumstances of the coaching arrangement.

Where Quink Lab is unable to provide an agreed service, or where a remedy is required under Australian Consumer Law, Quink Lab will work with the family to provide an appropriate solution. This may include rescheduling, providing a credit, resupplying the service, or providing a refund where required.

Refunds are not generally provided for:

  • change of mind
  • missed sessions or no-shows
  • late cancellations covered by the cancellation policy
  • lack of student preparation
  • failure to complete agreed work
  • dissatisfaction caused by factors outside Quink Lab’s reasonable control
  • failure to achieve a particular mark, grade, ATAR, ranking or outcome

Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.

20. Ending coaching

Either party may end the coaching arrangement by providing reasonable notice. Where regular weekly sessions or a coaching cycle has been arranged, families should provide as much notice as reasonably possible so that reserved coaching time can be managed fairly.

Quink Lab may end or pause coaching if:

  • payment is overdue
  • the student repeatedly misses or cancels sessions
  • the student is not engaging appropriately
  • the coaching arrangement is no longer considered suitable
  • communication from the student, parent or guardian becomes unreasonable, disrespectful, unsafe or inappropriate
  • there is a breach of these Terms & Conditions

Any outstanding fees for completed sessions or services remain payable.

21. Privacy

Quink Lab handles personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

Please read the Privacy Policy here.

22. Changes to these Terms & Conditions

Quink Lab may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in services, business practices, website operation, technology or legal requirements.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.

Updated Terms & Conditions will generally apply to future website use, enquiries, bookings and coaching arrangements. Where a coaching arrangement has already been confirmed, Quink Lab will take reasonable steps to avoid applying material changes unfairly or retrospectively.
